Travelling across east London? The Blackwall Tunnel is a fast route under the Thames. Pay before your journey begins, or turn on AutoPay and the app pays each time you use the tunnel.


You pay per crossing. There are no barriers, so drive straight through and pay on your phone.
Off-peak for cars and small vans with Caura AutoPay. It's £4 at peak times.
Every day except Christmas Day. Peak hours are 6am to 10am northbound and 4pm to 7pm southbound, Monday to Friday.
If you don't pay by midnight on the third day after you use the tunnel. It's reduced to £90 if you pay within 14 days.
Taxis, Blue Badge holders and accredited recovery vehicles are exempt, as are some TfL-licensed private hire vehicles. Low-income drivers in 12 east and southeast London boroughs and the City of London can get 50% off.
Roads approaching the tunnel are clearly signposted. There's no barrier or payment booth, so it's up to you to remember you've used the Blackwall Tunnel and pay the charge.
