With an average of 1,300 flights a day, thousands of passengers arrive at Heathrow by car or taxi. If they're not using the long-stay car parks, they're usually dropped off at a terminal.
The charges came into force in 2021. They're part of the airport's plan to cut traffic and improve air quality by discouraging extra vehicles. Spare income from the charge goes towards sustainability projects, helping to reduce overall airport fees.
If you’ve paid for the wrong day, unfortunately we aren’t able to offer a refund. We don’t take any of the money for your payment and once it’s made it goes straight to the end provider. We’re unable to recover funds so we aren’t able to offer a refund.
Valid Blue Badge holders can get a full discount. You don't need to own the vehicle you're dropped off in, so it covers taxi rides too. Apply online with your vehicle registration, visit date, badge number and flight number.
These vehicles are also exempt:
You can avoid the fee by dropping passengers at one of the long-stay car parks, where a free bus runs to the terminal.
