How much is the Silvertown Tunnel charge?

It depends on your vehicle and when you cross. Prices per crossing are:

  • Cars and small vans: £4 peak, £1.50 off-peak
  • Motorcycles: £2.50 peak, £1.50 off-peak
  • Large vans: £6.50 peak, £2.50 off-peak
  • Heavy goods vehicles: £10 peak, £5 off-peak

Off-peak prices are available with Caura AutoPay.

What times do the Silvertown Tunnel charges apply?

Charges apply every day from 6am to 10pm, except Christmas Day. There's no charge overnight between 10pm and 6am.

Peak hours are:

  • Northbound: Monday to Friday, 6am to 10am
  • Southbound: Monday to Friday, 4pm to 7pm

All other times between 6am and 10pm are off-peak.

Are there any discounts or exemptions?

These are exempt:

  • Taxis
  • Blue Badge holders
  • Wheelchair-accessible and zero-emission capable private hire vehicles licensed by TfL
  • NHS staff and patients eligible through the NHS reimbursement scheme
  • Accredited breakdown and recovery vehicles

Discounts are available too:

  • 50% off for low-income drivers in 12 east and southeast London boroughs and the City of London
  • £1 off the standard off-peak charge, for at least one year, for small businesses, sole traders and charities registered in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Greenwich

Will I get fined if I don't pay for the Silvertown Tunnel?
